I am writing today to update you following the Prime
Minister’s announcement yesterday evening regarding tougher lockdown measures.
The government has made it very clear that it expects the construction industry
and related supply chain and support businesses to continue operating through
the pandemic, whilst following COVID secure guidelines. This includes
tradespeople working in customers’ homes, provided that no resident has tested
positive for Covid 19 or is showing symptoms.
Over the coming weeks, we will continue to trade “normally” subject to what has
now become standard COVID Secure working practices. We will continue to offer
three ways for our customers to trade with us:
Delivery
For most of the UK we operate a 7
day a week, same day delivery service. Customers can place
orders by calling their local branch between 7am and 5pm, Mon-Fri, or by
calling our trade support team on 01329 226501 from 7am to 8pm seven days a
week. Alternatively, customers can place orders online at www.tradeonlyplumbing.co.uk and specify a
delivery date and address.
Car-Park Service
If delivery is not practical, but a customer prefers not to enter the branch,
orders can be placed by any of the methods described above. Park the van
outside our branch and call into the team who will be happy to bring your order
out to you.
In Branch Service
Our branches continue to offer trade-counter service, subject to maximum
numbers of customers being physically inside the branch. Whilst we love seeing
customers in person, under current circumstances it is probably best if we see
a little bit less of you, so please:
Observe the maximum capacity signs
Wear a face-covering
Sanitise your hands on entry
Follow one-way markings where applicable
Maintain social distancing
Avoid unnecessarily handling stock
Only remain in the premises for as long as necessary to complete your purchase
As additional safety measures, we will be closing some toilet facilities and
turning off coffee machines.
Back at the beginning of all this in March of last year, I
closed my first letter saying “If
we all come through this, mine’s a large Jack Daniels”. I’m not
ready to pour that drink quite yet, but hopefully soon we will hear the clink
of ice into glass!
Stay safe.
